W15 Lake Gregory

We had the lucky experience of staying 2 nights in the W15 Lake Gregory. It is a boutique hotel and a perfect escape if you're looking for peace and tranquility. Given the smaller set up compared to most hotels, the hospitality is uncomparable. There is always someone available, very welcoming and with smiles. A standout 10/10 experience, that I would highly recommend to anyone is the cooking class! My partner and I had chef Mano teaching us how to cook local dishes. Outside of the cooking class, when we first arrived the team helped us with our laundry and shared what types of activities we could do in the vacinity. In the two days we've: - Cycled around the lake, it's a perfect 5km loop. It's a lovely jog too. - There's a swimming pool as part of the hotel to cool off. - Rented a speed boat on the lake, there's a fair amount of birds for those that like to take pictures of local wildlife. - Horse Riding, there are loads of horses in the vicinity that you can pet. - Board games, badminton raquets etc.

W15 Lake Gregory was everything we needed for a restful and refreshing escape. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious. each meal thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The room was cozy, beautifully designed, and spotless, making it the ideal space to relax and unwind. The location by the lake is simply serene, peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature. It was the perfect setting to disconnect and recharge. Special kudos to our butler Krishan, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and memorable. His attention to detail and kind service made a real difference. Highly recommended for anyone looking to slow down and enjoy some true well-being time.

My recent stay at W15 in Nuwara Eliya was nothing short of magical! The property itself is a stunning blend of elegance and charm, nestled perfectly amidst the misty hills, offering breathtaking views that made every morning feel like a dream. The rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The attention to detail in every corner of W15 truly stood out—everything from the plush bedding to the serene ambiance made it feel like a home away from home. What elevated our stay even further was the incredible staff, particularly Raj Madhushanka and Shimal. Raj went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met, always with a genuine kindness and professionalism that made us feel so welcomed. Shimal’s cheerful demeanor and helpful recommendations for local spots to visit added a special touch to our trip—we couldn’t have asked for better guidance! Their dedication and warmth are a testament to the outstanding service at W15. The food was another highlight—every dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing the best of Sri Lankan cuisine with a modern twist. Whether it was sipping tea on the terrace or unwinding by the fireplace, every moment at W15 felt like pure bliss. If you’re looking for a perfect getaway in Nuwara Eliya, W15 is an absolute gem. Wow, what a nice spot to spend an afternoon and evening. Great for a little getaway. From the moment we arrived we felt like special guests. We had a lovely walk around Lake Gregory (cut through the mariner restaurant in front) and enjoyed the selection of fresh tea leaf pot of tea in the room as well as the lovely toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the pool was very nice to spend the afternoon in. Dinner was nice and the meals were reasonable priced. Breakfast out the front was a great way to start the morning. They organised a transfer to Nano Oya for us for a reasonabke amount. This was our best stay in Sri Lanka but also the most we spent, so this was also expected.

A luxurious little hotel, right on the shores of the lake. We had two rooms overlooking the lake and had a little shared terrace in front (rear rooms may be different). Gorgeous, comfy beds, and the best bathrooms on our trip! We had a fabulous breakfast every day. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The location was perfect - away from the bustle of the town, but within walking distance of the sites and some relaxed restaurants. Lovely hikes in the hills, and nearby the many tea plantations, and the racecourse.
